Power Factors (, an industry-leading software provider for monitoring, managing, and optimizing clean energy operations, is seeking qualified applicants for a Sales Engineer role. The Sales Engineer is a Cross-functional role that involves interacting with the Sales Team, Implementation Team, Product Team, Data Science Team, as well as current and prospective clients to drive company success. 

We're helping renewable energy plants provide as much clean energy as possible and we're looking for multidimensional team players to help us continue to solve problems and drive customer success. 

The position will be based in Power Factors Headquarters in Larkspur, CA, north of San Francisco.


If you live and breathe marketing and share our passion for renewable energy, we need to talk.  We are looking for a flexible and versatile marketer who will be responsible for the development and execution of various demand generation campaigns in support of PowerFactors global business development and sales efforts. We are domain and subject matter experts that need a strong-willed marketing manager to help us articulate our story, deliver it across multiple channels, resulting in demand generation and marketing qualified leads feeding into our sales and business development team.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage overall demand generation strategy and campaign execution.
  • Work with our domain, technical and executive leaders to harvest and build engaging, valuable and scalable cross-platform content about our 100% reference-ability, customer successes, who we are, our solutions, and why customers should engage us and use our solutions.  All of which are critical elements to our brand.
  • Deploy marketing campaigns, leveraging the developed content and marketing automation tools and techniques, experimenting with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels – content creation, content curation, pay-per-click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis and more ideas you bring to the table.
  • Event Management – we will do a number of highly targeted events in 2018 as part of our demand generation campaign.  Need to work with industry business development leaders to execute events, booth/content strategy, driving attendance, capturing campaign responses, converting to marketing qualified leads, engage with sales to further convert to sales qualified leads.  Measure and report on the effectiveness of the event investment(s), in terms of campaign responses, MQLs, SQLs, and eventually revenue impact.
  • Build strategic relationships with key renewable energy industry analysts, press, bloggers, and other subject matter channels to amplify the content and messaging about PowerFactors and our customers’ successes.
  • Be in charge of our marketing budget, allocate/invest funds as if they were your own (wisely) being a steward of our precious working capital.
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gaining insights, assessing against goals, and continuously improve our approach.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

We are looking for a Rockstar marketer, with the following requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in marketing or related field. 
  • Demonstrable experience in leading marketing strategy and execution, paired with a strong will to drive successful outcomes and attitudes required to learn and adapt as we grow
  • Good taste, sense of aesthetics, design and a love for great copy.  You will be working with a bunch of engineers that think they have all of this, but they really need someone that can assimilate the inputs and make it great.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques and best practices in marcom, marketing automation, and measurement.  You should drive the use of these practices and tools and build organizational enthusiasm about your results.   You should be numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and demonstrating data-backed decisions and recommendations to a bunch of engineers.
  • Renewable Energy background, domain experience, and passion are all highly desirable.
