Job Summary
The Planner is responsible for maintaining a continual flow of existing work orders, in various conditions, from the planning queue into a dispatchable state for scheduling. Planner will ensure WOs are prepared and ready to hand-off to the regional scheduler for scheduling and dispatch.
Planner communicates with all necessary parties to ensure work order captures the customer’s service needs and is executed with excellence
Job Responsibilities
  • Review site information, location, size, contact, access, parts, tools, materials, equipment, and assessing labor required to complete work.
  • Gather, input, update, and maintain site information, access information, contact information, lock codes, gate codes, location of keys, including screening of entries from notes, chatter and email to locate pertinent information in Salesforce.
  • Verify contract requirements, exclusions, inclusions, obtaining and uploading POs, quotes, costs, and pricing.
  • Coordinate site access, site-specific safety protocol and technician PPE for upcoming site visits for corrective and preventative tasks.
  • Request, prepare, and upload proper documentation, checklists, as-builts, and deliverables, for field techs before moving to Ready to Schedule Queue for handoff to the Scheduling Team.
  • Coordinate procurement, shipping, delivery, and stocking of parts and materials to ensure they are ready for technician dispatch.
  • Coordinate rental equipment for site delivery.
  • Understand and acknowledge the status and priority of each work order in the Planning Queue.
  • Monitor and maintain Planning Queue in Salesforce.
  • Own WO preparation to ensure WOs are ready to be moved into the Scheduling Queue to be scheduled and dispatched by the regional scheduler.
  • Ensure efficiency and effectiveness in planning by creating standards and specifications, and precise, repeatable procedures.
Education and Experience
  • 2-year degree and/or multiple years of experience as a Planner/Scheduler is required.
  • Experience in Planning/Scheduling technical resources for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar facilities is preferred.
  • Experience in Solar or Electric Vehicle Construction and O&M preferred.
  • Ability to sit and stay focused for long periods of time, make phone calls, send emails, and use chatter within the work order system to obtain information.
  • Ability to handle stress in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with numerous team members, clients, and field personnel in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with CMMS such as Maximo, Salesforce, etc.
Working Environment
  • Based in Costa Mesa, California
  • Available to work overtime as necessary
