The Subcontractor Manager will have the responsibility of managing the operations of the internal and external subcontractor nationwide network to support our national energy services for electric vehicle charging stations, distributed generation, and other service support that subcontractors may be required for. This responsibility includes and is not limited to locating, qualifying, and negotiating pricing for subcontractors in all NA regions, managing, dispatching, tracking, and regularly scoring the subcontractor in the network to ensure we have strong resources to meet the needs of our contractual obligations.

The following responsibilities are not limited to:
  • Perform subcontracting recruitment nationwide to support our nationwide energy services portfolio.
  • Work with team to develop and document processes for regional category sourcing processes (prequalification and vetting standards) with specific negotiation strategies to achieve cost, quality, performance, and risk mitigation objectives.
  • Partner with Management on subcontract needs to establish and drive cost savings.
  • Develop and foster strategic relationships with key Subcontractors.
  • Proactively manage the Subcontractor base, bringing in key internal personnel when necessary to position Subcontractors to meet and exceed objectives.
  • Facilitate and manage Subcontractor meetings as necessary to help foster open communication.
  • Generate and grow Subcontractor scorecard system to track and report on performance and value.
  • Must effectively communicate with senior management both internally and externally with Clients and Subcontractors.
  • Demonstrate project management skills in leading cross functional teams, able to identify and spear head improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for safety, legal, company image, and environmental issues.
  • Develop and administer project plan schedules and performance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 2 Year degree preferred and or 4+ years of experience in a related technical or business field of managing subcontractors
  • Electrical Vehicle Charging and or Renewable Energy background a plus
  • 2-4 years’ experience in all aspects of subcontractor management (vetting, formation, administration, negotiation, etc…)
  • Ability to work closely with subcontractors (suppliers as assigned) to resolve issues as they arise
  • Ability to influence diverse group of people to achieve mutually beneficial solutions
  • Understands and demonstrates strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to close subcontractor recruitment needs on time with minimal supervision 
  • 20% of travel required (Up to 50% first 3 to 5 months)
