SUMMARY
 
The Sr. Manager, Construction will provide strong leadership and oversee the MaxGen construction delivery process. They will deliver top quality construction as we install EV Charging stations for our customers.  This is a key leadership role, and the Sr. Manager. The Sr. Manager will be required to work with our suppliers, engineers and MaxGen Construction Team, to ensure successful completion and closeout of the projects as designed. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee construction for the installation of all EV charging station projects and ensure they are executed in safe and timely manner on budget.
  • Professionally manage team and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are followed.
  • Ensure work order data and reports are completed as required in timely manner.
  • Accurately review and approve time worked by members of the team in accordance with company policy and Federal/California laws.
  • Manage project budgets throughout all phases of the construction and project process.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and design team.
  • Support with estimating and budgeting of projects.
  • Review and approve the schedule and construction plan.
  • Assist in the review and redlining of plans and specifications during the design, design development and construction document phases of pre-construction.
  • Develop timelines and critical path scheduling for initial project start up.
  • Work closely with procurement to review all major subcontractor and material bids.
  • Provide input on future projects; assist with development on code analysis, constructability, and estimating and code compliance.
  • Strategic Planning; work with upper management to develop long term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction.
  • Develop budget for equipment, manpower and additional resources for commercial civil construction.
  • Build teams of qualified civil and general labor for commercial construction.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management working towards a common goal; streamline the project delivery process, review progress, and ensure construction schedule and performance on all projects.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned or requested.

  • In field work experience including leading other crew members to complete projects within established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on job-site, lead daily safety meetings, properly fill out JHA & LOTO documentation.
  • Set the tone for safety! Ensure that workers and operators are always working in a safe manner.
  • Manage quality assurance for all work performed by the crew.
  • Must be able to react and remedy production related issues as they arise in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of California Building Code and National Electric Code.
  • Ability to read plan sets and perform take off for ordering materials.
  • Experience using wire/cable tugger, hydraulic bender, conduit threading machine and exothermic welding devices.
  • Commercial construction experience.
  • OSHA 10 at a minimum.
  • NFPA CESC preferred.
  • Proper knowledge of working in and around areas with “live” circuits
  • Ability to work with daily exposure to outside environment including harsh weather. 
  • Other duties as assigned
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management or equivalent and commensurate combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in working in civil constructions
 
 
WORKING ENVIORNMENT
Working Environment
1) Job may require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow..
3) May require that work be performed at various heights up to 50’, working from ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolding, catwalks, aerial lifts or other safe working platforms.
5) Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat and safety glasses at all times. Each job site may be different, and must be accessed individually.
6) Repetitive use of legs, arms, hands and fingers.

Physical Requirements
1) Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
2) Lift 51 pounds.
3) Constantly moving on your feet, all day long.
4) Climb ladders of all types.
5) Complete overhead work for full day’s assignments.
6) Possess good vision (natural or corrected)
7) Responsible for securing tools and materials from vendors and storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
