SUMMARY

MaxGen Energy Services is looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our rapidly growing company.  This individual will play a key role on our team and will be required to assist in several important HR functions, including the following: benefits administration, HRIS management, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/onboarding, leave of absence administration and employment law compliance.  In addition, the HR Generalist will have the opportunity to assist in the implementation of a variety of new HR processes and programs.
Due to the diversity of responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be a competent and resourceful individual with a passion for HR, and must have the ability to learn quickly and the desire to learn.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 The following responsibilities are not limited to:
 
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help plan training & development
  • Assist with employee files and records in electronic and/or paper form.
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans
  • Provide support to employees and managers in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems
  • Administers various human resource programs and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Support the performance management process to deliver the maximum value to the organization.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assist with the filing of the EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • Proven experience as HR Generalist
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Ability to work independently under general direction.
  • Ability to problem solve and handle problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
  • HRIS experience, implementation experience strongly preferred (PayCom is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability navigate conflict, seeking positive outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Good judgement and the ability to ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work with strong personalities and drive results
 
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business Administration or relevant field (or equivalent)
  • 2 - 5 years of direct HR experience.  
  • Strong computer skills including working with enterprise level software and MS products
 
Preferred
  •  Additional HR training/PHR 
 
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 
  • Travel may be required – less than 15%
  • Normal Office Environment
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with employees and customers
