SUMMARY
The EV Field Service Technician position will require a highly skilled technical person interested in the field of Electric Vehicle charging equipment. This position will perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment and software upgrades, and commission on EV stations in various location and states.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, commissioning, and software updates on EV charging units of various makes and models.
  • Perform component level diagnostics, utilizing laptop, DMM, phase meters, and other tools, to diagnose failed units and determine required repairs.
  • Generate professional grade reports documenting findings that are complete and ready to be presented to customers.
  • Accurately update work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in a timely manner.
  • Write detailed work instructions on all new tasks performed.
  • Work in customers monitoring and ticketing system to update work progress and statuses.
  • Assist with inventory of customer owned parts & equipment and auditing of components.
  • Manage warranty issues from cradle to grave
  • Conduct training for other technician and/or subcontractors


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:
  •  2-5yrs. experience as a field technician on power electronics equipment or related experience.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and hands on experience with hardware, tools, instruments and methodological analysis.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office product especially Excel and Word
  • Strong electrical/electronic background relevant to EV equipment
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Experienced in measuring voltage, current, frequency, insolation, phase rotation.
  • Ability to gather data accurately and compile and prepare professional reports on field activities
  • Ability to collaborate and work as a team.
  • Ability to be proactive, flexible, confident, professional, self-motivated and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and hands on experience with hardware, tools, instruments and methodological analysis.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Regular local travel with 50% or more remote travel possible.
  • Work will be performed outdoors in various weather conditions and in test labs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb a ladder, and to work in harsh environments.
  • Operation of service vehicles in public areas.
  • Routine operation of a computer.
  • Frequent oral and written communications.
