Summary

The Scheduling Manager position ensures all solar (utility, C&I and storage) and Electric Vehicle (EV) charger field service activities are coordinated, scheduled and executed to meet contract requirements. Develop and maintain processes and procedures that maximize the scheduling team’s effectiveness. Manages scheduling team to efficiently and effectively deploy resources to reduce customer cost, improve productivity, eliminate waste (travel time, material delays, etc.), and lower subcontractor costs. Ensures scheduling team is properly utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and schedule, develop job plans for preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and assigns work to the appropriate technical resources. Ensures team is trained to perform the scheduling work as per the process and procedures. Works closely with local and remote management, planning team, field service personnel, monitoring personnel, clients, and subcontractors to coordinate service activities at remote sites across the nation. Understands the interrelationships of trades and how work is performed in this service environment so that the appropriate work is prioritized and follow up on work is executed accordingly.


Job Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are not limited to:
  • Manage all aspects of the scheduling process and work to continuously improve processes and procedures to increase productivity and reduce cost.
  • Manage Scheduling team to efficiently and effectively dispatch internal technical resources and subcontractors nationwide for preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Manage short and long-term service schedules and accurately report statuses and other related metrics as required.
  • Monitors support requests and ensures all work is being scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track, evaluate, and report on all aspects of the scheduling process to show effectiveness, gaps, and other areas of improvement needed to improve the overall process.
  • Develop and maintain formal processes and procedures for scheduling
  • Provide training to the scheduling team to ensure they fully understand and utilize the latest versions of the scheduling processes and procedures and other training as needed.
  • Work closely with local and remote management, field service personnel, monitoring personnel, clients, and subcontractors as needed to coordinate technical service activities at remote sites across the US.
  • Monitor scheduling team to be sure they take ownership of Work Tickets from open to close to ensure they are fully executed and documented in a professional and reportable manner.
  • Ensure the CMMS system has the correct job plans for all maintenance to be performed by internal technical resources and subcontractor and correct any shortfalls.
  • Ensure CMMS service information, tech/subcontractor time, material usages, etc. is complete and accurately recorded.
  • Coordinate activities with other areas and departments, within the company, to ensure full utilization of resources.


Education and Experience

Required:
  • College degree in project management, business management or five years of experience in related fields.  
Preferred:
  • Experience in Scheduling technical resources for commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar facilities


Skills and Experience
Ideal Candidate will have:
 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with CMMS such as Maximo, Salesforce Based, etc.


Working Environment
  • Up to 15% of travel
  • Be available and respond during nights and weekends as needed
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
